CABADA, Ladislav; WALSCH, Chrisopher. Od Dunajské federace k Visegrádské skupině ...a zpět?
1st ed. Prague: Metropolitan University Prague Press and Libri, 2017. ISBN 978-80-87956-64-9
For more than two centuries, Central European reciprocity and cooperation have been among the key themes of political discussions and scientific analyses both within the region and beyond. The first section of our book analyses the development of Central European cooperation as well as concepts of the region before 1989. The second part of the book provides a bespoke and in-depth analysis of the fourth phase, i.e. developments after 1989. Though it has been the most stable and visible format for Central European cooperation in this period, the Visegrad Group has been met by a number of challenging alternatives and/or complementary projects including the Austrian concept of Strategic/Regional Partnership, the Austrian-Czech-Slovak project of the Austerlitz Triangle, the Polish-Croatian Three Seas Initiative and the European Union's macro-regional Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR). We focus on the development and prospects of each of these projects as well the rivalries among them and their interference with one another.
