Each state of the European Union has certain autonomy. The reason for that is, that social politics is shared part o Union´s politics, when setting up its own social system. The role of the EU primarily consists in setting up the general rules frame in coordination of social politics of individual member states. The goal of this publication is to clarify principles of operation of social politics of the European Union and to evaluate differences in social models setting and social politics systems of individual member countries. During the European integration there has been no uniform social politics established. It is impracticable due to the different political, cultural and economical circumstances and different welfare systems.
In the future EU should ensure as greatest possible consistency of individual social systems as possible and one of the possible solutions might be social model that contributes to the increase of competitiveness of European job market.
Methodological aspect of the solution of the chosen topic subject matter is based on the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Adjustment and the functioning of social politics of the European Union and member countries is clarified on the basis of technical sources and legislative documents. Quantitative analysis of the empirical statistical data was used in matter of evaluating job market indicators, social systems costs and international migration.
