The purpose of this monograph is to introduce readers to specific aspects of intellectual property rights in countries whose law is based on the Anglo-American legal tradition, which is primarily the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada or New Zealand, or those whose rights relate to aspects of the so-called common law and civil law, which we encounter in countries such as Israel, the Philippines, India or Nigeria. The monograph gradually addresses the issues of copyright protection, creative technical activity and trademarks. Because of its aim primarily at readers who are accustomed to the Czech law, it is based on the European continental perspective and it occasionally uses direct comparison with the Czech or the European law in selected questions.
