Habilitation and Appointment Procedure

MUP is accredited for habilitation procedure and professorship appointment procedure in the field of International Relations. The registration of the relevant internal regulations with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic is currently underway, with completion expected by the end of 2025. After the registration of these internal regulations, MUP will be entitled to initiate the first procedures.
The course of habilitation procedures and professorship appointment procedures at MUP is defined by Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on the Modification and Amendment of Other Acts (the Higher Education Act), and is governed by MUP's internal regulations: MUP Habilitation Procedure and Professorship Appointment Procedure Code and Rector's Directive: Habilitation Procedure and Professorship Appointment Procedure
A list of minimum, non-negotiable, and quantified requirements for initiating the habilitation procedure and the professorship appointment procedure at MUP is available here.
The list of mandatory documents submitted by the applicant to initiate the the procedure is specified in the Rector's Directive: Habilitation Procedure and Professorship Appointment Procedure. The relevant forms of these documents are available in the annexes to the Code.
In the MUP List of Fees for applicants in the habilitation procedure/professorship appointment procedure, MUP has set fees for related acts, specifically a fee of CZK 1,500 for the administrative assessment of the proposal requirements, and a fee of CZK 40,000 for the habilitation procedure/professorship appointment procedure.
The habilitation procedure and professorship appointment procedure are in the final stage discussed and approved by the MUP Academic Board only at its in-person meeting held each January.
