Ms Tereza Němečková, Ph.D.
Head of Centre
Economic Development of Afica, Europe-Africa relations, North Africa, Morocco
Tereza holds degrees from the Prague University of Business and Economics (Czechia). Currently she works as Associate Professor at Department of International Business at Metropolitan University Prague and as the Head of African Studies Centre. Her research interests include the recent changing economic landscape of Africa, Africa-Europe trade and development relations, and in particular, she focuses on the North African region, and specifically on Morocco. She has published in journals such as Africa Spectrum, The Journal of Modern African Studies or The Journal of North African Studies. She has also contributed to monographs published in Springer Verlag or Routledge. She is a member of Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa and African Studies Association.

Mr Ricardo Reboredo, Ph.D.
International Political Economy, Critical Geopolitics, Sino-African Relations, Megaprojects, South Africa
Ricardo holds a B.A and M.A degree from the University of Miami (USA) and Ph.D. from the Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). Currently he works as Assistant Professor at Department of International Relations and European Studies at Metropolitan University Prague. His research interests include globalization, Sino-African relations, and the political economy of African development. He has published in journals such as Review of African Political Economy, China Perspectives, African Geographical Review and Progress in Development Studies. His latest project, co-authored with Padraig Carmody and Peter Kragelund, is a book titled Africa's Shadow Rise: China and the Mirage of African Economic Development (Zed Books).

Mr Lukáš Tichý, Ph.D.
Energy Security, Energy relations between EU and Russia and EU and Africa
Lukáš holds degrees from Metropolitan University Prague (Czechia). Currently he works as Assistant Professor at Department of International Relations and European Studies and as Research Fellow at Institute of International Relations in Prague. His research interests include EU energy actorness and Africa, energy security, discourse analysis, EU-Russia relations, and the theories of international relations. He has published several articles in various domestic and foreign journals, including Energy Strategy Reviews, International Politics, Mediterranean Quarterly, Energy Policy, or international publishing houses as Springer. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of several journals, e.g. Modern Africa, The Czech Military Review (Vojenské rozhledy) a Energy Policy Studies.

Ms Ing. Lea Melnikovová, Ph.D.
Russia and the post-Soviet region, Russia – Africa relations
Lea holds master’s degree from the Prague University of Economics and Business (Czechia) and Ph.D. degree from the Czech University of Life Sciences (Czechia). Currently she works as Assistant Professor at Department of International Business. She specialises in the Russian economic development and the post-Soviet region. With regards to Africa, she focuses on the recent rising mostly economic engagement of Russia with Africa. She has published in journals such as The Journal of Modern African Studies or Human Affairs. She participates now in research focused on the Euroasian Economic Union integration via the post-functionalism lenses.

Ms Ing. Martina Varkočková, Ph.D.
Security Studies, Post-Soviet Central Asia and other Turkic-speaking countries, Turkey, Turkey – Africa relations
Martina holds master’s degree from the Prague University of Business and Economics (Czechia) and Ph.D. degree from Metropolitan University Prague (Czechia). Currently she works as Assistant Professor at Department of International Relations and European Studies. She specialises in constructivist, socializing and critical approaches in international relations and security studies, especially in the region of post-soviet Central Asia and other Turkic-speaking countries. With regards to Africa, she focuses on the recent Turkish activities in some African countries. She has published in journals such as Central Asian Survey or Europe-Asia Studies. She acted as deputy editor-in-chief of the journal Mezinárodní vztahy (Czech Journal of International Relations). Currently, she serves as deputy editor-in-chief of the Central European Journal of International and Security Studies.
