The Centre for Comparative Research of Anglophone Countries was founded on 1 January 2022 as a expertise centre forming an autonomous part of the Department of Political Science and Anglophone Studies. Its activities are closely related to the implementation of the Bachelor's and Master's programme of the Anglophone Studies. In addition to researching the issues of Anglophone countries in a wide interdisciplinary scope using approaches of political, territorial, historical, literary and cultural-historical and anthropological sciences, the centre focuses primarily on the comparative civilizational studies and the history of ideas.
The interdisciplinary research and educational activities of the Centre for Comparative Research of Anglophone Countriesinclude publication outputs in the form of expert studies and monographs, organization of workshops and international conferences, establishing cooperation with related centres in the Czech Republic and abroad, preparation of domestic and international scientific and educational projects and conducting of awareness-raising lectures intended for secondary schools, the general public and other institutions.
