Assessment of Foreign Education
Metropolitan University Prague (MUP) has the right, pursuant to Section 48 of Act No.111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education, to recognise foreign education for the purposes of admission to all study programmes at MUP. The assessment of education in the context of the admission procedure at MUP does not constitute a recognition valid in the Czech Republic, at other universities in the Czech Republic, or abroad, and is valid solely for the purposes of the admission procedure at MUP.
Applicants to study at MUP who completed their secondary school-leaving examination or higher education in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, or Slovenia will have their education automatically recognised, without the need for further document verification, based on special international agreements between the Czech Republic and these countries. These applicants submit to MUP only a certified copy of their foreign secondary school-leaving certificate or university diploma and Diploma Supplement or a list of completed examinations (Transcript of Records).
Other applicants must apply for a foreign education assessment. The application must be submitted electronically through the online application system.
The application procedure, the list of documents to be submitted with the application, as well as the foreign education assessment process are governed by MUP Rector's Directive No. 3/2025.
To apply for assessment of foreign education, applicants must provide certified copies of the documents listed below. These documents must be submitted in paper form to the following address: Metropolitan University Prague, Dubečská 900/10, 100 00, Prague 10 - Strašnice, Student Services Office. Documents cannot be sent electronically.
The specific forms of official document authentication required by individual countries are listed in Annex No. 1 to the Rector's Directive No. 3/2025.
If the required documents are in a language other than Czech, Slovak, or English, an official translation into Czech is required. The translation must be provided by a court-sworn interpreter or translator from the list maintained by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic.

Foreign Education Assessment Process at MUP
Applications for the assessment of foreign education are assessed by the MUP Vice-Rector for Student Affairs in cooperation with the Student Services Office.
If MUP has no doubts that the submitted documents confirming foreign education meet the requirements for admission of the applicant to study at MUP, it will recognise the document confirming foreign education and issue the applicant a written confirmation.
If MUP does not recognise the submitted foreign education documents as proof that the applicant meets the admission requirements, it will notify the applicant accordingly. In such a case, the applicant may submit an application for general recognition (“nostrification”) of foreign education in the Czech Republic to the relevant public authorities, and if s/he obtains it, s/he may then submit it to MUP.
MUP notifies applicants of the result of the foreign education assessment electronically via the Student Information System (SIS). This notification is not considered a decision in administrative proceedings and is not subject to appeal.
The applicant may request a paper copy of a document normally delivered through the SIS to be sent in physical form. This application is subject to a fee according to the MUP List of Fees, as amended.
